After clearing customs, meet an Adventures by Disney representative. Relax as a driver assists with your luggage and whisks you away to the hotel!

Travel across the emerald Irish countryside to the land of kings. Enjoy the scenic views as you journey to a picturesque town full of royal lore.

Explore the Rock of Cashel
Explore the royal seat of the Kings of Munster and walk among the collection of medieval buildings that crown the hilltop of Tipperary's Golden Vale. Learn about the imposing fortifications, the spectacularly-preserved guard tower and the majestic Chapel of King Cormac.

Welcome to Killarney
Journey to Killarney! The Town Squire will welcome your family and guide you on a tour of this charming area. Later, settle into your lovely room at the Killarney Plaza Hotel and Spa.

Dinner at Mentons and Disney Movie Night
This evening, adult travelers dine at the hotel's acclaimed Mentons Restaurant while the Adventure Guides treat the kids to a night of food and fun with storytelling and a classic Disney movie.

Journey to Muckross House
Travel by horse-drawn cart  through green fields to Muckross House, an historic Victorian estate that borders the picturesque lake in Killarney National Park.

Lunch at Muckross House
Dine like Irish aristocrats at this glorious Victorian mansion. Explore the meticulously restored manor's 65 rooms with a local expert. This afternoon, bike or stroll along the scenic lake shore with the family.

An Evening in Killarney

Early Morning Guided Tour of Killarney National Park
Wake up and follow your Adventures by Disney Guides on an optional walking tour through the enchanting Killarney National Park, located just steps from your hotel.

Eco Cruise on Historic Kenmare Bay
Take in spectacular views of Ireland from the crystal-clear waters of Kenmare Bay. Keep an eye out for the entertaining marine wildlife. And if you're lucky enough, you may spot a seal or two!

Explore the Town of Kenmare
Travel to one of the most visually stunning locations in the entire world. Dazzling seashore panoramas and magnificent rolling hills await your family at the storybook town of Kenmare. Choose from an array of charming restaurants for a family lunch — your Adventure Guides will be happy to make suggestions.

Return to Killarney
Travel back to Killarney via the jaw-dropping mountain vistas at Moll's Gap and Ladies View.

Dances and Flavors of Ireland

Day 6:

Explore Inch Beach
Travel to the rugged Dingle Peninsula and join a local naturalist for an interpretive stroll along the famous panoramic beach that inspired the filmmakers of Ryan’s Daughter.

Lunch in Adare
Snuggled in a wooded setting among farmlands along the River Maigue is the quaint village of Adare. Thatched cottages line its broad street, graced with beautiful stone buildings, picturesque ruins, boutiques and restaurants. Your family will have the opportunity to enjoy the Adare Heritage Center followed by lunch on your own and time to explore.

Arrive at Dromoland Castle
Familiarize yourselves with your royal home for the next two nights. Dromoland Castle truly is fit for a king or queen — or a president. Presidents, dignitaries, and heads of state frequently stay here. The bayside resort is bustling with exciting activities featuring tennis, golf, boating, putting greens, croquet, archery and spa services.*

Medieval Banquet

Excursion to the Burren
Explore one of Ireland's most spectacular geological wonders. In the Burren, the earth has eroded leaving behind ribbed sheets of limestone that the locals call "karren." Vegetation thrives in the rocky crevices, making the area excellent for grazing animals.

The Cliffs of Moher
The dramatic Cliffs of Moher drop over 700 feet straight into the ocean. Hear the sound of crashing waves and marvel at one of Ireland's most magnificent views. Dig into some real Irish fare at a seaside pub.

Irish Farm Tour
Enjoy a taste of the simple life and spend an afternoon with your family on a working Irish farm. Learn the secrets of scone making, sheep shearing and dog whistling, or try your hand at bottle-feeding a baby lamb or piglet.

Farewell Dinner and Special Surprise
Celebrate at your own private feast while enjoying the singing of a traditional Irish Balladeer. This extravagant dinner party will cap off a week of adventures to remember!

Is a passport required for this itinerary?
U.S. citizens will need a valid passport to enter Ireland and return to the United States. The passport must be valid six months beyond the intended stay and have 1-2 blank pages remaining. Allow sufficient time to have the application processed if applying for a new passport or renewing an expired passport – refer to www.state.gov for further details. In addition, guests 17 years of age or younger may be required to show additional documentation when traveling with a single parent. Non-U. S. citizens should check with  their local government for information on documentation requirements.

What airport do Guests fly in and out of?
Guests are picked up at Dublin Airport (DUB) on arrival day. Flights should arrive no later than 3:00 p.m. At the end of the adventure, Guests will transfer to Shannon Airport (SNN) for flights departing no earlier than 8:30 a.m.

Are transfers included for arrivals or departures from different locations or at different times from the itinerary?
No. Transfers are only included from the specified arrival/departure airports and hotels.  For the Emerald Isle trip, transfers are included from Dublin Airport (DUB) to the Westin Dublin on arrival day. On departure day, transfers are included from the Dromoland Castle to Shannon Airport (SNN).

Can the vacation extend beyond the Adventures by Disney itinerary?
Yes, Guests may stay in Ireland before or after the itinerary. Extended stays are available at special rates if booked through Adventures by Disney Travel Services, Inc. in conjunction with a land package and cannot be combined with any other offer. Please contact us for further information.

What is the climate like?
During the summer months, the weather in Ireland is mild, with temperatures usually topping out at 65 degrees Fahrenheit in the day, and dropping down to 50 degrees at night.

How strenuous are the activities?
While this adventure is not considered physically strenuous, most days will include two or more hours of walking. About half of the walking is in cities and often on uneven cobblestone streets. The other walks feature a combination of country dirt trails, villages, beaches, and castle ruins.  While in Killarney National Park, the itinerary includes a gentle bicycle ride with the motor coach available as an alternative. While nearly all of the trip’s featured activities are gentle if examined separately, the full range of activities requires a moderate amount of stamina in order to get the most of your vacation.

What is the basis for the suggested minimum age for this trip?
While Disney welcomes children ages 4 and up at the time of travel, it is recommended that children be at least 6 years old at the time of travel on the The Emerald Isle trip. This is based on several factors, such as flight time and jet lag, time zone differences in the destination, duration of the vacation, extended hours of daily activity programming and amount of physical activity (e.g., walking, biking) involved. Because each child is different, please contact us to discuss whether this is the right trip for each child being considered.

What types of meals are served during this itinerary?
Typically, breakfast is served each morning in buffet style and offers a variety of dishes. Dinners and lunches usually include fish, meat, and pasta or rice entrées; vegetables and salad; and desserts and fruit. Some included meals on this trip are served buffet style while others offer a limited-choice menu. Given the nature of group travel, á la carte menu choices may not always be available.  Children-friendly choices are available at all meals. Menu items are subject to change due to the availability and seasonality of foods. In order to offer each Guest a bit of time to enjoy meals amongst themselves, there are some meals that are not included in the itinerary. These meals have been planned in towns or cities where there are plenty of options available.  For questions or concerns about dining at any time during the vacation, the Adventure Guides will be happy to assist.

Is this itinerary appropriate for travelers with special needs?
Please note that this vacation includes activities that present certain challenges to Guests with special needs. It is strongly recommended that persons requiring assistance be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing assistance. What is the language and currency of Ireland?
Although the national language of Ireland is Irish, English is the primary language throughout the Emerald Isle. Many signs are in both languages. The unit of currency in Ireland is the Euro (EUR). U.S. dollars are not accepted at hotels, shops, or restaurants, but ATM machines are available in most places along your adventure to obtain cash in the local currency. Most hotels and restaurants accept major credit cards or debit cards in addition to travelers checks. Adventure Guides can help with any currency issues or language barriers.

Are tips included?

  • Adventures by Disney has taken care of certain tips and gratuities for all included meals and activities such as tips for porters, housekeepers, drivers, activity providers, local experts, and dining room staff for included meals.
  • On Your Own Dining Gratuities: When eating at a restaurant, a gratuity is usually included in the bill.  However, Guests who feel they have received exceptional service, may leave an additional gratuity. Many choose to simply “round up.”
  • Adventure Guide Gratuities: Gratuities for Adventures Guides are not included. For Guests who feel that their Adventure Guides have provided excellent service, the following discretionary gratuity is suggested : Per Guest/Per Adventure guide/Per Day - $5-$8 USD.  Adventure Guides accept local currency, U.S. dollars, and travelers’ checks.

What if Adventures by Disney cancels the adventure prior to departure?
Adventures by Disney reserves the right to cancel or reschedule an adventure at any time for any reason, such as if there are too few Guests or if the quality of the trip or the safety of the Guests would, in Disney’s opinion, be compromised, such as from unforeseen circumstances (acts of God) or other circumstances beyond Adventures by Disney's control.

  • If air is purchased through Adventures by Disney Travel Services, Inc., Disney will attempt to re-book for another departure of the same adventure during the same season, subject to availability, and Disney will bear any resulting airline re-booking charges. If unable to re-book on another departure, a full refund of all payments that had been made to Disney for the canceled adventure will be issued, including land package, airfare and Vacation Protection Plan (unless you have filed a claim), which refund shall constitute a full settlement.
  • If air is not purchased through Adventures by Disney Travel Services, Inc., and Disney cancels an adventure prior to its scheduled start date, Disney will attempt to re-book for another departure of the same adventure during the same season, subject to availability; however, the Guest will bear any resulting airline re-booking charges. If unable to re-book on another departure, Disney’s sole obligation is to refund payment received for the land portion and Vacation Protection Plan (unless you have filed a claim), which refund shall constitute a full settlement. Disney assumes no responsibility for any losses incurred by you on account of non-refundable air tickets or otherwise.
